Colony Forming Bacterial Count in Dental Unit Water Lines of Rehman College of Dentistry, Peshawar

Bacterial invasion of dental unit water lines is a global issue, which if left untreated, leads to formation bacterial biofilm within the lines. The aim this study was determine number colony forming units (CFU) in waterlines Rehman college dentistry. Samples from air-water syringes 44 different various departments hospital were collected. Tip each syringe heated using direct flaming eliminate any bacteria residing therein. samples collected 100ml sterile bottles and labelled according department name. sent for bacteriological analysis public health food laboratory, Peshawar. results concluded that WHO standards contamination, all fall category B (1-10cfu/ml) deemed fit drinking.
